Teaching Concept

GoGo Gallery is an unique new program that teaches art appreciation and history through creative initiatives. Students engage with children from all around the world through imaginative activities such as playing to be aliens discovering art and explaining the narrative in one other’s work. As children play with various mediums, their motor abilities, coordination, and planning improve. Of course, students learn to study, analyze, and assess everything from modern sculptures to ancient Egyptian tombs by diving extensively into a single work of art each month.

Features of course design

Art Appreciation

By the end of this course, students will have a deep knowledge of the culture, process, and history of artists from across time. As they imagine themselves as Ancient Greek sculptors, 70s conceptual artists, or renaissance painters, works of art that might seem hard to understand will come to life.

Artistic confidence and problem-solving.

Throughout the course, students will be faced with a variety of artistic challenges that push imagination and problem-solving. As they progress in class and learn that the process for making famous works of art isn’t so different from their own processes, their confidence and ability to problem solve will grow.

Connection with other kids

GoGoWhiz’s virtual format allows students to get to know kids from across the world. Through group activities, games, and discussions, students will come to appreciate the viewpoints and experiences not just of famous artists, but of each other.
